Mary Kate Spainhour, Partner.
Mary Kate’s focus with Seasons is cultivating new business, corporate strategy, contract negotiation, client relations, customer service and marketing. Mary Kate’s background and professional passion includes sales, special event catering, promotion and marketing development. Mary Kate shares over thirty years of food service experience. Mary Kate spent eight years in restaurant service and the last twenty three years in various roles within the contract food service industry.
Mary Kate moved to the Washington area from Connecticut in 1988 to pursue a career in Political Science. Mary Kate’s love for food and marketing prevailed. Shortly thereafter, Mary Kate began a career with a large food service company as Director of Sales.
Mary Kate co-founded Seasons in January of 1998 and began her quest to “serve with love” and bring hospitality back into the restaurant industry. Mary Kate and the team of partners continue to formulate corporate strategy and position the company for future growth.
Mary Kate enjoys history, cooking, traveling, camping, baseball and family time with her husband Bruce.
Jorgen Petersen, Partner.
Jorgen is Seasons’ Chief Financial Officer which is interesting and unique as Jorgen is an accomplished Chef of trade. He is also Seasons “Chief Culinary Officer” and visionary. Jorgen Petersen brings over thirty years of experience and panache to the culinary field.
Jorgen is a native of Denmark where he found his love for food and crafted his skill as an apprentice. Jorgen came to the United States by way of London where Jorgen was the Executive Chef for The Royal Danish Embassy. Jorgen then became the Executive Chef at The Royal Danish Embassy in Washington, DC. Prior to Seasons, Jorgen defined his culinary gift as an Executive Chef and various operational and financial roles in hotel, restaurant and contract food service industries.
Jorgen co-founded Seasons in 1998. Jorgen is the anchor behind the culinary focus of Seasons. Jorgen’s financial skill in forecasting budgeting technology and financial strategy equal his culinary skill. Jorgen’s vision, sound operational expertise and corporate strategy will continue to lead Seasons to success. Jorgen has a zeal for racing his MV Augusta motorcycle and travel. He and his wife, Barbara, have traveled to many alluring parts of the world including Africa, Peru, Japan, England and Denmark in recent years.
Art Witebsky, Partner.
Art grew up locally in Bethesda, Maryland. He graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration in 1991. Art has served the food service industry in various operational and executive management roles since 1991. Art came to Seasons in February of 2000 and is co-owner of the corporation.
Art brings an upbeat approach to all aspects of operations, financials and human resource development. Art’s serves as the Human Resources leader for Seasons. He has developed our corporate handbook, served as Seasons training expert, developed Seasons “best practices” and Seasons corporate benefits strategy. Art and his partners consistently plan for Seasons future.
Art is as personally well-rounded as he is professionally well-rounded. Art has a true zeal for athletics, with a special fanaticism for golf. Art is a certified PGA Pro and can boast a published book on golf, titled “Golf’s Little Instruction Book”. He has won the Washington Waiter Race on two occasions and participated in numerous Marine Corps Marathons. Art is a motivated leader who brings continuity, financial control and stability to all Seasons accounts.
Art’s most important role is husband to Jennifer and father of Katie and Andrew.
Claus Nielsen, Partner.
Claus Nielsen brings a true passion for fine food and a belief in creating “staff restaurants”. Claus has twenty two years of culinary experience and has incredible culinary finesse, high energy, and a fresh perspective on contract meals.
Claus began his career cooking in restaurants along the Danish coast, where he fell in love with local seafood. Claus longed for broader culinary horizons and left to work the stoves at London’s famed Ritz Hotel and Washington’s Ice House Cafe. Two years later, he headed to top-rated Kendrick’s on sunny St. Croix. Claus returned stateside and became an Executive Chef with Capital Restaurant Concepts (J.Pauls, Georgia Browns, Paolos, Georgetown Seafood Grill). Claus has been a featured chef in a James Beard Foundation publication and received special recognition from the Baltimore Sun.
Claus joined the Seasons Culinary team in February of 2000 and is co-owner of the corporation. Claus brings Seasons the restaurant panache and leads the company purchasing department. Claus is also responsible for many of the culinary standards of the company. You can often find Claus in an account kitchen demonstrating his love for cooking. Claus is a trend setter and will be active in expanding the staff restaurant concept and implementing new and ever-changing ideas to all Seasons accounts.
Claus lives in Rockville, Maryland with his two beautiful girls – Helena and Skye.
